Programming Services for Motorola Radios

The Portable Clinic has been working on Motorola Portable Radios sence 1972 and has developed many modifications to enhance there use. Our Service Rate for Repairs is $66 per Radio and covers up to 2 hours of time and $33/hr there after. Most Radio  can be repaired in the 2 hours.

If you want only programming done We will program your radio or radios for a fixed rate of $33.00 per hour with a 2 hour min. for as many radios as can be programmed in that time. The normal time to setup and program a radio is about 30 miniutes each including checking it out on the Service Monitor.  Shipping of the Radios back to you will be at your expense. I like to ship using 2 - 3 day Priority Mail. We can also ship using UPS or Fed-X.  We Service and program the following models but can Service other models also. Email me with your needs. Presently We can SERVICE, PROGRAM or RECRYSTAL the following Motorola ImageImage

New RoIP Module for use with the Skype  Network

ImageI am presently designing a new RoIP product that I designed to connect Motorola Radios to a full duplex audio network like Skype. This New Radio Over Internet (RoIP) module will have a USB interface with a  Sound Card and Hardware Vox Circuit for keying  the radio that you want to connect  to the internet through your Computer.   This will allow  you to connect your Base Station, Portable or Mobile radios  in a Private network with other radios at other locations around the USA or World  for Free. On Skype you can setup a connection that can be on 24 hours and 7 days a week.   You will also be able to connect to the (POTS) Telephone network and make Phone calls from your Radios if it has a  DTMF key pads on it by paying Skype for a 6 hour block of time for about $15.00.  This Module works great and allows you to connect radios that are half duplex to a full duplex network like Skype. The Skype network works great with this new interface module.  This new module is Called RoIP-Skype .  This module and the Skype network will allow you to set up a  Private Commercial network for you Company or Personal use that is private to your allowed users. If you are interested in this new product send me a email and reference the RoIP-Skype module and how many you will want when they are ready  for shipping.  I expect the price to be between $150 and $200 dollars each.

New MT500 Frequency Synthesizer Module

The MT500 VHF Synthesizer is almost ready for to start Selling. I am waiting for the final version of Software to program it.The way you will program it is to connect Your computers Serial Port to the radio and running a program that I will supply. The Synthesizer will make a VHF MT500 a 16 channel radio that you can enter the Frequencies and PL codes that you want for each channel. The Synthesizer will be a assembled kit because most of it is surface mounted parts that you can mount in your radio and will have a A/B Band switch for 8 channels each. There is also a Green Led for Freq Lock and s phono jack for plugging in the Programming cable. Iam only selling the first version for the VHF Ham Channels but it will work for other ranges and bands. After I have had time to check it out completely on the 2 meter band. I will also offering a UHF version in the near future. The cost of the Kit will be around $150.00 dollars or less if possible. I will also Install the Kit for you if you desire it for $99.00 more. The MT500 has a coil tuned front end and will only cover about 4 MHz with out any loss of Band Spread Q. unlike the new radios that are being sold today that cover great band spreads and have no tuned front ends this one will be very selective.

MT500 8 freq VHF kit or the HT220 12 Freq kit

I am no longer selling the MT500 8 freq VHF kit or The HT220 12 Freq Kit any more as the coils are not available and would cost to much to substitute.

New RoIP Modules for connecting your Two-Way Radios using the Internet.

We have several  choices for getting your Communication System working using a RoIP Radio Internet connection. You Can  uses a new Commercial Router type Product that VoiceInterop offers that does not require a dedicated Computer to get your Radio System up and working and uses Commercial Software they provide.  Option two is  use the RoIP B2  if you have a Router with E&M Signaling or the RoIP-B3 modules on this site using a version of EQSO Software  that I have to offer for your use that is Free.   I have been working with VoiceInterop  to develop  new simple Radio to Internet Interface Products (RoIP) that works great .

You must connect the RoIP-B3  Unit  to a  Computer to make it work.   The RoIP-B3 connects your Radio Base Station, Mobile, or Portable Radio  to a  Computer that connects to the Internet using your Computer.    The Unit is easy to set up with your radios and work great using 600 ohm Line interface transformers to isolate the Computer audio circuits  from the Radios audio circuits.   Solid state Relays are used to operate the PTT and COS/COR circuits of the radio to keep the radio ground system from the Computer ground system.  A RJ45 connector Provides all the needed  connections to your Radio.  I designed the RoIP Products to work with Motorola Base Station, Portable and Mobile 2-way Radios but will work with any Two-Way Radio.  There is a  item to talk about and that is if you are using Microsoft Windows XP operation System I have found that you need a to use a USB to RS232 serial converter cable to work with our products.  I do have the Converter cables in stock and they cost $40.00 or you can get one at your local computer store. I am designing  a new product that will have the USB interface built in  and I will  add in  a USB sound card feature also. But for now I recommend  you use the converter cable set to Com3 or Com4  to provide the Serial interface need for keying the radio.

E&M Signaling Version designed to connect a Mobile or Base Station radio to Cisco Router if you aleady have one with E&M signaling features.   I presently do not supply the Housing like the one in the Picture. I am designing a new one that will cost $25.00 more if there is a demand for it.  Send  Email or Call me if you are interested and have questions.                         Phone 561-703-0696 Ask for Bob Hicks

This module is the was designed  for Point to Point or many Points to Many Points  Linking of Your Radio Systems which lets you Send Radio Audio both ways over the Internet and gives you Push-to-Talk (PTT) in both directions.  You must have a Conputer connected at both ends of the Internet to make this model work.  This unit has Voice Operated Squech (VOX) using the provided software and Carrier Operated Squelch(COS/COR) Features.  This Model will  operate your Portable and Mobile and Base Station Radios using the Internet.  If you have been using  Leased Lines this will save you a lot of money as long as you have Your Internet running.   I  presently do not supply the white Housing like the one in the Picture.  I am designing a new one that will cost $25.00 more for future units when there is enough demand for it .    Send Email or Call me if you are interested and have questions.   Phone 561-703-0696 Ask for Bob Hicks

Model RoIP-B1 Cost $149.00

This module  was designed  for Point to Point or many Points to Many Points  Linking of Your Radio Systems which lets you Send Radio Audio both ways over the Internet and gives you Push-to-Talk (PTT) in both directions using the VOX features in the Program.  You must have a Conputer connected at both ends of the Internet to make this model work.  This unit was designed for Portable Radio Models only. This model does not have the Carrier Operated Squelch(COS/COR) Features because Portable Radios do not have access to the Squelch circuit with out making a modification to the radio.  This Model will  operate your Portable  Radios using the Internet.  If you have a need for a Simplex Repeater Network using a low cost Portable Radio and  can get by with 5 Watts or less of RF power this unit will do what you want and will l save you a lot of money as long as you have Your Internet running and your radio has a connector that will let you connect a Remote Microphone..

I  presently do not supply the white Housing like the one in the Picture.  I am designing a new one that will cost $25.00 more for future units when there is enough demand for it .    Send Email or Call me if you are interested and have questions.   Phone 561-703-0696 Ask for Bob Hicks

VoiceInterop will  provide you with a interface to the Internet and  Telephone Phone Networks using their  newly developed Servers and Software.

For Ham use We will offer these new products from The Portable Clinic's new online Store now in development. Presently the cost is $149.00 to $199.00 which includes a assembled unit. a 9V Power Supply is provided if needed plus 2 audio cables and a RS232 cable to connect to your computer.

You will need to build a Radio interface cable to connect your radio interface to the new product or you can order one from US by request. We can supply a cable  for your Mobile and Base Station Radios for $50.00.   We will also build a special cable for your Portable Radio for $50.00 if you can supply a Remote microphone.

For Ham use you can use our RoIP Module products  using ECHOLINK OR EQSO'S Software that connects to the Ham worldwide network. I like the EQSO software because you can set up your own Server by using NO-IP.com create a Static IP that will not change for your Server. Using EQSP also allows you to create  and set up Channels  or rooms using there software version with a built in DTMF software decoder if you have DTMF on your Radio  ECHO-LINK Software works great and is very stable.  I use ECHO Link for my Personal Ham use and EQSO for my Private Network. I have a older version of the EQSO Software that is not longer exceptable for HAM use but works great for a Private Personal System.

Current Up todate Software:

SKYPE SOFTWARE web site for Windows (Commercial!)

Echolinik SOFTWARE web site for Windows (Ham use only!)

EQSO SOFTWARE web site for Windows (Ham use only!)

EQSO SOFTWARE X web site for Linux (Ham use only!)

I am using this product myself. I have used these products with the Motorola MT500, HT600, MT1000 Portables and Maxtrac type Mobiles that have a 16 or 20 pin interface connector on the back of the Radio. The Motorola CDM Radio products have a 20 pin connector on the back that does the same.   These Products will operate with other Radio Manufactures that have a way to connect to the same Radio features as the Motorola Radios provide. They can be interfaced to any Two-way Radio Base Station, Mobile, or Portable.

We can supply interface cables for Radios also if needed.

I will keep you informed on the progress of these New Products. The RoIP-B3 Product comes assembled  and tested and are about (2" by 5").  The Connections are very simple (Line-in) and (Line-out) with adjustment Pots for both and Connection to your computers Audio interface and RS232 Port for Radio-PTT and (COS)Computer operated Squelch.  The interface will work from any DC power Source of 5v to 15v and I have modfied the Products so it will be powered directly from your Radios power Source .  Two LED show(RED-PTT) and (Green-COS).
